Tom Lookabill is a seasoned business coach, consultant and an accomplished executive with over 20 years of experience in operations management, business development, and strategy execution across a wide range of industries. He has a proven track record of driving significant top-line and bottom-line growth, as well as leading complex organizational transitions and restructurings. Throughout his career, Tom has worked with small businesses, startups, and large enterprises to help them achieve their goals, increase revenue, and build a strong online presence. He has an analytical mind and an eye for detail, which makes him highly effective in identifying areas of improvement and developing solutions.
How is Business Coaching different from our Consulting Services?
Business Coaching
Our Business Coaching Program is structured more like a coach and advisor. We work with you to review your business goals, develop a plan to help you reach your goals over a defined period, and then act as an advisor, accountability and motivation source, and support you in your execution to the plan. We are available to help you work through hurdles in your execution, but you are the primary execution agent of the plan. This approach allows for us to provide excellent value for our clients, at a much lower cost than traditional consulting services.
Consulting Services
Our consulting services are typically project or hourly based and include execution of work performed by us to support or solve a business challenge for our customers. We take on the assignment and do the work for you. On occasion, our Business Coaching clients will need us to take on a project ourselves, so we do offer a hybrid approach. Our Business Coaching Process
So how does it work?
The Clarity Call
It all starts with a Clarity Call. This is your first introduction to your Business Coach. On the call we will have an initial discussion about your business and your goals. Its a great format to see if we are a good fit for you and your business and vise versa. It’s free and you are likely to get a bit of advise as well. We keep these to 30 minutes on average. We always treat any information provided as private and confidential for all of our engagements.
The Details Assessment
If you like what you hear on the clarity call, we will send over a non-disclosure agreement and schedule an additional, longer call, web conference or in person meeting to get to know each other a bit better and begin to get into the details. In order to keep this meeting efficient and effective, we will also send you a questionnaire to help us better understand your goals and challenges. This step also allows us to tailor your coaching package to your needs. We have standard rates, but we try our best to maximize the value to you and scale our rates for different size businesses and needs. This also helps us tailor hybrid packages, if you want to take advantage of some more “done for you” type services.
Contract and Pricing
At this point, we will be able to provide you with details and pricing for your coaching package, along with pricing for any additional ancillary services that we have discussed to date. We believe that transparency and clarity, clear expectations and guidelines help both of us move forward in a productive path. This step will include general details on what to expect moving forward. This step is typically available within 24-48 hours after our details meeting.
Onboarding Session
Congratulations! You have decided to move forward and take that shortcut to reaching your goals, what’s next? We will send you are onboarding packet which will detail out a initial coaching plan and some resources to help us get started. In our first session, we will work together to ensure that we are in alignment on the plan and path forward, and work together to define Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound (SMART) Goals. We will also discuss any remaining details and additional discovery required, which may include on-site visits, financials assessments, brand and marketing identity reviews, etc. to address the gaps between your current state and your goals.
Discovery Process
For most of our clients, an additional discovery process of approximately 4-6 weeks is required. This process will include more substantial time for both parties to really get into the specifics of the challenges you are facing and what is in the way between your current state and where you are trying to go. This timeframe is different for every client need and availability, but is essential for developing an detailed actionable plan and solution set for you to follow, along with any along with identifying any additional resources you might need.
Implementation
Here we go! We’ve have a Smart Goals and an actionable plan. We will meet to review the plan recommendation and make any alterations that you feel are needed. It’s time to implement! As long as you follow the plan, this is were you will really start to see results. We are there with you the whole way, acting as an advisor and problem solver for any unforeseen hurdles and to keep you motivated and accountable to the plan.
Support and Check-ins
We know it can be daunting, but you’ve got this! We we have regular check-ins as identified in the tailored plan. These meetings will review progress and any challenges you have run into and help keep you on-track to the plan. This phase can be anywhere from 4 months (typical) to a year or more depending on the engagement. Occasionally during the process, new information is discovered which challenge the plan, in which case we would work with you to alter the plan as required. We are also available during this period for in-between meeting support as required for items that can’t wait or are urgently in your way. Sessions are typically twice a month, but can be tailored to your needs and availability.
Close-out Meeting
At the close of our engagement, we will review the success of the program and plan. If you have followed the steps outlined and applied yourself, you should see substantial results towards the Smart Goals that we outlined. We will discuss whether or not you would like to continue with our service, ask for any feedback and may provide general guidance on what to do next.
